I can easily say that we are a nut butter obsessed family! We love all kinds of nut and seed butter and use them literally everyday! Smoothies, yogurts, breads you name it. We will always find a way to add them to our meals! :)
Among all kinds of nut/seed butter, Sunflower butter (or simply Sunbutter is one of my favorites). Sunbutter is easier to digest and contains more unsaturated fat, magnesium and vitamin E than than regular peanut butter! Which is a plus, specially for the kids!
These Protein balls are so easy to make and pack important nutrients (hello Vitamin E and Magnesium).
1/2 cup sunflower seed butter
1/2 cup vanilla plant based protein powder
1/4 cup shredded coconut
1 Tbsp of hemp seeds
1 Tbsp of cacao powder
Place all ingredients in the blender (or food processor). Once it’s all mixed, make little balls and pass it in shredded coconut, hemp seeds or the flakes of your choice. I like using freeze dried fruits like strawberries and raspberries to add a sour touch to it.
